This gaming tablet is built with Sony TV display technologies optimised for mobile. It comes with Live Colour LED for increased colour depth and gradation. And the IPS gives an excellent viewing angle and accurate colours from edge to edge. The large, high-resolution 10.1” Full HD TRILUMINOS™ Display for mobile with X-Reality for mobile picture engine has a 1920 x 1200 progressive scan, for razor sharp image quality that gives incredibly crisp pictures free of jagged edges.
With IPS technology, the Xperia Z2 tablet offers an improved viewing angle. So you get super sharp images and accurate colours, no matter which angle you’re looking at your device from.
Unique to Sony, TRILUMINOS™ Display technology creates a wider palette of rich, natural colours. With our BRAVIA® TV expertise, hard-to-reproduce reds, aqua blues and emerald greens are displayed beautifully, for a more vivid viewing experience and a heightened sense of depth.
TRILUMINOS™ technology uses LEDs that emit purer reds and greens, creating a brighter and more uniform light that captures the true colours of the source. From lush landscapes to natural skin tones – Sony delivers a significantly wider colour range. So you can view every moment in astonishingly authentic colour and breathtaking quality.
Live Colour LED is a brand new technology integrated only into Sony devices, giving you the world’s deepest and most intense colours on a smartphone or tablet display. This new innovation combines red and green phosphor with blue LEDs and customised colour filters to produce a brighter and more uniform light. Capturing true colours without the risk of oversaturation.

From still pictures and low-resolution videos to high-resolution films, Sony’s unique image software engine analyses each image to optimise colours, sharpness and contrast, as well as reduce noise. The super resolution function reproduces missing pixels, for spectacular clarity and astonishing detail – bringing your favourite moments closer to Full HD quality.
Sony’s unique super resolution breathes new life into everything you see. This technology examines each pixel in an image and reproduces the ones that are lacking, giving you the sharpest images.
By selectively enhancing elements that help to render the texture and sharpen the outlines, images become clearer and crisper.
The Intelligent Image Enhancer reproduces the vividness of the image in its original colour. Pictures are selectively optimised by enhancing the contrast, making images appear more detailed and true to life.
Intelligent Noise Reduction decreases noise that can occur in high-motion scenes or footage shot in low-light conditions. As a result, images become clearer and smoother.
Clear and loud. With Sony’s audio technologies, you can be sure to experience the best sound, always.
High-Res Audio reduces distortion and noise at wider frequency ranges to reproduce high frequency sound in amazing detail. So every track you listen to resembles the sound quality as it was originally recorded in the studio.

Sony’s S-Force® Front Surround audio technology gives you a powerful surround sound effect without the need for multiple stand-alone speakers. This gaming tablet has two surround sound speakers, ensuring maximum effect. And the speakers are carefully placed so that your hands don’t block the sound when holding your tablet.
With Clear Audio technologies – Clear Stereo, Clear Bass and Clear Phase – Sony sound engineers figured out how to minimise distortion and restore balance and clarity to your music. Your device automatically selects the best audio quality settings, leaving you with a crisp and clear audio experience.
Experience a tablet with Digital Noise Cancelling technology. The Xperia Z2 tablet reduces up to 98% of all ambient sounds. Based on a technology known as Active noise control, this technique removes the lower-frequency parts of the noise, preventing high-frequency noise from ever reaching the ear. Since noise-cancelling technology is built into the tablet device, you can enjoy noise-free sound with the sleek MDR-NC31EM headphones. These headphones sample surrounding noise through a microphone. When compensated by the DNC circuit in the Xperia device, the resulting output is a clear, noise-free sound.
Using premium materials and with minute attention to detail, the Xperia Z2 tablet offers Sony’s signature design in a waterproof package. Tablets and smartphones use a lot of power, even when you’re not actively using them. All those apps that you have on your tablet may still be running in the background, draining your battery. Battery STAMINA Mode minimises battery drain. It recognises when you’re not using your display and automatically turns off the functions you don’t need, while keeping the notifications you want. As soon as you press the power button to wake up your screen, everything is up and running again.
The Xperia Z2 tablet comes packed with a fast Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 801 processor. The asynchronous processor makes sure that each core is powered independently. So you get the precise amount of power when you need it, without wasting power when you don’t.
The Adreno 330 GPU (graphics processing unit) brings you advanced and visually stunning 3D games, and lets you browse the web lightning fast – all while using the lowest power consumption.
