Charge the battery

The phone battery is partly charged when you buy the phone. It may take a few minutes before the Battery icon appears on the screen when you connect the phone to a power source. You can still use your phone while it is charging.

To charge the phone:

1. Plug the phone charger into a power outlet.
2. Plug one end of the USB cable into the charger (or into the USB port of a computer).
3. Plug the other end of the cable into the micro USB port on your phone, with the USB symbol facing up.
4. When the phone is fully charged, disconnect the USB cable from your phone by pulling it straight outwards.

Note: The battery will start to discharge a little after it is fully charged and then charges again after a certain time. This is to extend battery life and may result in the charge status showing at a level below 100 percent.

In order for your phone to be water and dust resistant, the covers for the micro USB port and the headset connector must be firmly closed.

Tip: You can keep the screen on while charging the phone. From the Home screen, tap the Application screens icon, and then find and tap Settings > Applications > Development and mark the Stay awake checkbox.
