How do I use voice input?

When you enter text, you can use the voice input function instead of typing the words. Just speak the words that you want to enter. Voice input is an experimental technology from Google™, and is available for a number of languages and regions.

Note: You must have a data connection on a mobile or Wi-Fi® network to use this service. Additional charges may apply.To enable voice input

  1. When you enter text, tap the Number and Symbol icon on your on-screen keyboard, or tap the Number icon on your phonepad.
  2. Tap the Text input settings icon and select Keyboard settings.
  3. Mark the Google voice typing key checkbox.

To enter text using voice input

  1. When you enter text, make sure that the voice input function is enabled and that you have a working data connection.
  2. When the Microphone icon appears on your on-screen keyboard or phonepad, tap it. When the Language and microphone icon appears, touch and hold it.
  3. When the voice input screen appears on your screen, speak to enter text.
  4. When you finish speaking, tap Done, the most likely word suggestion appears underlined.
  5. Tap the word, the search results appear in a list. Select the word you want.
  6. If the word is not correct, and there is no match in the list, tap the Delete icon to delete it, then start again.
